New To Twitter?

February 2, 2010 by 4dancers

If you are thinking about using Twitter to promote yourself of your dance studio but aren’t sure you would know what to do, here is a great resource for beginners…

PC Magazine posted the “Top Ten Twitter Tips For Beginners” and it is a great primer on how to get up and running once you have created your account. Unlike Facebook and LinkedIn which are fairly “plug and play,” there is a bit to know about Twitter and it pays to be able to use it wisely. I get a ton of traffic from there on this blog every day. You can too–but you have to spend a little bit of time learning how to manage your content on there. It’s worth doing.

LinkedIn & Twitter For Dance Professionals

November 20, 2009 by 4dancers

There is good news for dance professionals who use both LinkedIn and Twitter–you can now combine the two. LinkedIn is offering you the ability to add the “Tweets” app so that you can share what you post on Twitter with those on LinkedIn. You can also allow your Twitter account to be visible on your LinkedIn profile. It pays to utilize social media as much as possible, so try to set aside a few moments to take advantage of this new pairing if you can.

TwitterTips: A Resource For Dance Professionals

October 28, 2009 by 4dancers

twitter

Your dance bio on Twitter is a make it or break it thing…people will decide to follow you or ignore you based on that alone. I found a good resource that will help you think through how to write one. Want to share photos on Twitter? Did you know you can? You can use one of the photo sharing tools that have evolved to help out. While you are on TwitterTips, check out some of the other great info they have. Very helpful site.

Retweeting For Dance Professionals

October 7, 2009 by 4dancers

twitter

If you have been using Twitter you may have noticed that sometimes posts are preceeded with “RT” for retweet. What is that exactly?

Retweets are a way of passing on information that you have come across that you think others might enjoy reading. You can share something with your entire Twitter network by retweeting it–just copy, paste and put RT along with the person’s info before you post. If you want all the details, check out this link for a “how to” from Mashable.
